Our Story

Born from something personal

I'm Michael Kelly, and Pharmhouse Productions was born out of a desire to do more than just make videos — to tell stories that matter, and to give something meaningful back.

I grew up in a family where illness wasn't abstract — it was personal. My older sister lives with a rare disease, and from an early age I understood what it feels like to be different, to live alongside uncertainty, and to watch the people you love navigate something they can't fix. There's no camera, cure, or script that can solve that — but there is the power to help people feel seen, heard, and less alone.

After years of working on commercial shoots, I often walked away feeling creatively satisfied but emotionally empty. Everything changed when I began directing patient testimonials and healthcare stories. Sitting with patients and families, listening to what they were carrying, and helping them share their experiences honestly — I'd leave those shoots feeling centred and fulfilled, like I was finally doing the work I was meant to do.

"Storytelling runs in my blood. Pharmhouse exists at the intersection of craft and empathy — cinematic storytelling paired with deep respect for the people in front of the camera."

I may not be able to change a diagnosis, but I can help shine a light on real experiences, reduce isolation, and build connection. At its core, Pharmhouse Productions is about using video to help people feel less alone — and to create space for stories that deserve care, dignity, and attention. That's the work. That's the purpose.

What Drives Us

Built on principles

Clarity Over Complexity

Pharmaceutical content doesn't have to be dense or clinical. We find the human thread inside complex science and make it accessible without oversimplifying.

Compliance as Craft

We don't treat regulatory review as a hurdle — it's part of the process. Our work is built with MLR awareness from the very first draft, not retrofitted after the fact.

Detail-Driven Delivery

From the brief to the final render — every frame, transition, and sound choice is intentional. We sweat the details because your audience notices them.

Empathy First

Whether filming a patient story or building a training module, we lead with sensitivity. The people on screen — and watching — deserve content made with care.

Reliability as a Standard

Pharma timelines are real. Approvals are complex. We show up prepared, communicate proactively, and deliver on time — every time. No surprises.

Partnership Over Projects

We don't chase one-off work. Our best relationships are ongoing — where we learn your brand, your science, and your team, and the work keeps getting better.

Why Pharma

This work chose me

My father was an author, and growing up around stories taught me that telling someone else's truth — especially when they don't always feel heard — can be an act of service.

Personal Connection

My sister lives with a rare disease. I know firsthand what it means to sit beside someone navigating uncertainty — and I bring that empathy to every patient story we tell.

MLR & Compliance Fluency

We build content with medical, legal, and regulatory review in mind from day one — structuring scripts, supers, and references to move through approval with fewer revision cycles.

Patient Sensitivity

We've filmed patient stories across oncology, rare disease, immunology, and mental health. We create safe, respectful environments that bring out authentic, powerful testimony.

Craft Meets Purpose

Commercial experience taught me production craft. Patient work taught me why it matters. Pharmhouse exists where those two things meet — cinematic quality with genuine purpose behind every frame.
